You are very welcome to join our group at any time or contact us for information or support.
The group began in September 2006 and has a wonderful group of people with children having a variety of disabilities. New people join us each meeting. In 2007 we are planning a dad's group and will continue family events. We hope this group will help you in your journey with special needs.
Bring your questions and stories to Chick-fil-A located outside of Mall of Georgia on the last Thursday of each month at 9:30am. We plan on the meeting lasting 90 minutes but you may stay longer if you wish. You can also come and go as you need. Drinks and a small breakfast will be provided by the FOCUS support organization.
Check the calendar on this site for updates on the meetings and other special needs events.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the meetings.

About the Co-Coordinator
Hi my name is Cheryl Lambright and I live in Buford with my husband Vince and two children Katie 2 years and Patrick 4 years. We were transferred here 5 years
ago from Florida. My husband is originally from Texas and I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I work very part time as a Registered Nurse while raising my
two children.
I was introduced to FOCUS 2 years ago while I was trying to deal with my sons diagnosis of cerebral palsy. It has helped me feel like I was not alone and connected me with some wonderful families. I am very proud to be apart of such a wonderful organization.

About the Support Coordinator
Hi, I am Candice Lange. My family has lived in Dacula, GA since 2000 and active in the special needs community for my 8 year old son, Corey, who has mild Pachygyria (smooth brain) and epilepsy. I also have a 5 year old daughter, Ashley and my husband, Mike, who owns Sophtware.com. FOCUS has been a wonderful organization for support and information.
Several months after our move from Medford, Oregon, Corey turned 2 and went to his regular checkup only to be diagnosed with mild hypotonic cerebral palsy. Since then he has also been diagnosed with a rare mild form of Lissencephaly, perisylvian syndrome, multifocal epilepsy, global developmental delays, motor planning delays, strabismus, PDD, and sensory issues. Some terms have stayed others have been dismissed. This is our reason for being apart of FOCUS. This year, 2006, Ashley went off to kindergarten and my heart wanted to do a support group for our area in Gwinnett. My husband also encouraged me to start a website with special needs topics and ways to connect the group and others for playdates, events, etc. called “Making Connections. Finding Solutions” at www.candicelange.com.
